With ever-expanding research on the beneficial effects of Massage, more Professionals are advising patients to include Therapeutic Massage in their health care treatment plans. Physicians, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists are recommending more patients receive Massages for certain health conditions, while many employers and health insurance plans support the use of registered massage therapists. The Traditional Medical Massage of Thailand, more commonly known as ‘Thai Massage’ is one of the worlds oldest healing modalities.

It originated in India over 2500 years ago and was brought to this part of the world by a saint named Doctor Shivago Komarpahj. He was a contemporary of Buddha and many believe he was a personal physician to the King of India. With the spread of Buddhism this traditional way of healing also spread. During the early period it got widely popular in Southeast Asia as well as in China and Tibet and for centuries it was performed by monks as an element of indigenous Ayurvedic Healing. Thai Traditional Massage has fundamental Massage points called ‘Sen’ which has all the energy line. Massage points or energy line is controlled together with Prana or Breath. It helps to relieve fatigue, muscular cramping and nervous tension. It also helps in stimulating the blood and lymph circulation for physical fitness so as to improve body immunity. Thai Traditional Massage is similar in many ways to ‘Yoga’ since Thai Massage uses two primary procedures i.e. to apply gentle pressure with the hands and feet and a wide variety of passive stretching movements making it as effective as Yoga. Thai Traditional Massage has a custom to do ‘Wai’ before beginning the Massage. It’s an old age Buddhist tradition to pay respect to the opposite person and also to summon up the personal energy to concentrate on the condition of the individual. Thai Traditional Massage has the following benefits mentioned below which has lot of significance in attaining a healthy life.

Lymph Massage

Lymph Massage was founded in Europe and was brought to Southeast and Far East Asia in Meiji Period. It has been cited as having a positive effect on people having problems in skin, cellulite and dysfunctional respiratory system and fatigue.

Lymphatic drainage Massage is a very specialized type of Massage which gently aims to encourage movement of lymphatic fluid thereby detoxifying and removing toxins from the body. It also helps in reducing puffiness and swelling. It has been cited as having a positive effect on skin problem, cellulite, dysfunctional respiratory system and fatigue. Moreover, it boosts the immune system of the body reducing cellulite with Oil Massage which in turn helps to reduce weight. This treatment is also a relaxation which can facilitate feelings of being healthy and energetic. Few of the many benefits of Lymph Massage: Improves and reduces lymphedema.

The Lymph Drainage improves and restores lymph fluid to a healthy clearer look and consistency, which accelerates detoxification of tissues. Patients often notice more energy including those with chronic fatigue. Many notice a feeling of well being after their Lymph Drainage sessions. Proper lymph flow reduces pain due to lymphatic conditions. It helps to relieve sinus congestion, sinus headaches, allergy and respiratory problems. The lymphatic massage inereases athletic performance and decreases recovery time after injuries and surgeries. Moreover, it helps creating a healthier appearance of the face and skin and supports cellulite reduction therapies.

Oil Massage and Scrub

Oil Massage has its roots in the ancient medicine of Indian Ayurvedic which dates back to 2500 years. Aroma oil, which is made of highly concentrated extracts of herbs which helps stimulate the body is also known as Aromatherapy.

It helps in relaxing the body tissues, boosts the hormone system and relieves fatigue and stress. Our school also specializes in teaching ‘Scrub Massage’. Students can benefit a lot by learning Scrub Massage as it means exfoliating with all natural things and it is the traditional way of refreshing. After a good Scrub Massage the body feels quite light and rejuvenated, therefore has lot of significance in our life. Thai Oil Massage benefits include: Relieves stress and aids relaxation. Relieves muscle tension, stiffness and backache. Dissolves energy blockages and corrects body alignments. Improves blood and lymphatic circulation. Helps detoxification of the body. Relieves tension headaches. Helps tone the body and prevent illnesses.

Facial Massage

One of the outstanding services provided by our school is the ‘Facial Massage’ which uses natural ingredient such as tamarind which is known for its proven benefits for the skin hence making it more vibrant and beautiful.

Healthy and glowing skin is one of the most important beauty assets. Massage stimulates circulation and brings more oxygen to the face. It also stimulates the production of collagen and tightens the skin. It also delays the onset of wrinkles. In addition, wrinkles on the forehead are often caused due to involuntary tightening of the muscles. Massage relaxes the muscles, and delays the formation of forehead wrinkles.

Foot Reflexology

Foot Reflexology is a type of Foot Massage that is meant for more than just feeling good. Where a basic Foot Massage has particular strokes that are solely meant to relax the feet as well as the person, Foot Reflexology is meant to increase the health and well being in the whole body.

It’s a science which deals with the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet which correspond to all of the glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating these reflexes properly can help many health problems in a natural way, a type of preventative maintenance. Based on the idea that all nerve zones begin in the feet, foot reflexology is thought to cure many ailments. By massaging certain areas of the foot, and applying certain pressures and strokes to particular areas, a practitioner of reflex zone therapy can provide many benefits.
